T.H.E.M.E.  Tri-state Home Educators Music Ensemble (T.H.E.M.E)  meets in Cabell County, West Virginia, and includes students from Kanawha County, West Virginia to Proctorville, Ohio. The group consists of two bands, a beginner band for first year students, and an advanced band for those who have completed beginner band. This year group guitar classes have also been added to T.H.E.M.E.
T.H.E.M.E. meets once a week, Tuesdays, and students are expected to learn much of their music by practicing at home. The weekly meetings are their chance to put all the instruments and parts together to create the full experience of the song. Music selected includes fun pieces such as the director arranged Zelda medley, and contemporary, traditional, and classical band arrangements. The groups hold two concerts annually in addition to performing at the Homeschool Day at the Capitol. They also have performed at Chic-fil-a, and other homeschool events.
The group is directed by Tim Appleton. He holds a degree in Music Education from Heidelberg College, and attended graduate school at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
